LELO Boomerang Double Ended Vibrator Review

As the use of sex toys became more normalised in mainstream society, attitudes towards incorporating them during partnered sex declined. There used to be a large amount of discomfort surrounding using toys with a lover, with the fear of being replaced by a device, shame and lack of knowledge of how to use them being the main concerns. Now more people are open to trying things to keep their sex lives interesting. We love to see it! Using a toy does not diminish your level or skill or deter intimacy; it enhances it, allowing a broader variety of ways that you and your lovers can pleasure each other. It would be fantastic of we could magically grow extra appendages or make ourselves vibrate in varying degrees of intensities, but alas that is not the case, and this is where toys come in. I am a huge advocate for incorporating toys into partnered sex. Toys are one of the best tools to help to make you a better all-around lover.

I love using toys with my partner. When you’ve been with the same person for a long time (we’re a decade in) it’s easy to slip into a sexual routine, not because you’re boring or you’ve lost your sense of adventure, but over long periods, you learn your partner’s body, they learn yours, you figure out what works and you do it again, and again and again. Toys help to break that up, allow you to explore further, revisit what you think you know of one another and discover new desires and responses that have evolved over time. The flow of your sexual routines shifts into an erotically dynamic space with new peaks and valleys that produce sensations you weren’t expecting and pinnacles that were previously unexplored.

This week I had the pleasure of testing a sex toy for couples, particularly for those of you who enjoy satisfaction of the sapphic variety. Lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, fluid people who don’t do labels, I’m talking to you! One of my favourite luxury pleasure brands, LELO, has staked their claim in the pussoir popping market with their latest release, Boomerang, a double ended vibrator with sensorial ribbing, 16 intensity settings and app-controlled capabilities.

My Experience

When it comes to testing sex toys, I like to think outside of the box to see all the possible way I could derive pleasure from it, something that felt especially pertinent this go around as I had nobody to scissor with *sighs* -I couldn’t bear to leave the other end lonely. Despite what some of you think, I am tragically straight. Though I have never known the pleasure of a woman (I hear you all are eating good over there) I am also in possession of le pussoir, so at the very least I can inform you of the salacious sensations the Boomerang delivers.

Power-wise, the Boomerang packs a hell of a punch, starting from a mild buzz for those who enjoy gentler stimulation, to an intense vibration for you hellcats who want to want to obliterate your walls. What I found most impressive about the varying spectrum of power in this toy, is that no matter what level you used it at, it’s quiet. Though LELO does state that the toy is <60db, when testing it on my decibel meter at full throttle, the highest it reached was around 40db. This is no small feat. Usually, a toy that reaches that level of intensity is practically yelling through the walls advertising your private time to everyone in the house. LELO have locked down the whisper quiet vibes beyond it being a marketing term.

After my initial discovery fiddling with the pleasure settings, I learned that the dual motors in the toy could be used simultaneously and separately. What piqued my interest was the setting where the vibrations travelled from one to the other. It was reminiscent of the bowstring technology they employed with their Soraya Beads and that gave me an idea. Though the Boomerang’s main objective is as an internal vibe, you are also able to use it externally. I decided to sit on it and use it as a grinder. It is how I begun and completed my session, as I do find external stimulation the most pleasurable.

I shan’t discount the internal stimulation it delivered. When inserted I found myself impressed with the ergonomic design. It can be a bit annoying when using a g spot vibrator and the toy moves around too much, but the Boomerang didn’t do that at all. It slid into place and settled against my g spot without me needing to fiddle around with it. This also made moving it against myself low effort, only requiring a gentle tug to deliver the perfect level of stimulation.

The thing I noted about this impeccable design was that when used for sapphic coitus, it has a higher chance of staying inside whilst you writhe against each other. Seriously, you need to give it a proper tug to displace it. Some people lay back and think of England. I lay back and think of lesbians, and lesbians, if you’ve been on the hunt for a quality double ended vibrator, I think LELO might have cracked the code because not once did the Boomerang drop out. As a matter of fact (time to overshare), the more excited I became, the more my body moulded itself around it. The removal was slow-going; this is great news, for you, yes?

One venture included me trying to use it as a dual stimulator, placing one end inside of me and bending the toy to use the other end as a clitoral vibrator. It didn’t work that well, but it was a testament to how durable the toy is lol.

I also employed the toy the way I would a wand, which gave me flashbacks to their Switch; another double sided vibrator by LELO, with a wand head at one end and a dildo at the other, though that one was geared more towards solo play than partnered.

Speaking of partnered play, I thought it might be useful to provide some tips on how to use this couples vibrator with a lover whether you identify as straight or queer (I made sure to research thoroughly for my WLW gang).

Tips

The Boomerang being an app controlled vibrator allows you to expand on partnered play, meaning your lover can control your device whether they are in the room or in another country. If they are also in possession of a LELO app-controlled toy, you can use the Love Bridge feature and control each other’s devices.

If your partner is of the opposite sex, the Boomerang can be used externally to enhance your sessions by using it on each other during foreplay. You can stimulate your vulva or use it on their penis and testicles. An interesting option would be to use it during mutual masturbation, by sitting facing each other, inserting one end into yourself and placing the other under their testicles. You can then touch yourselves (or each other) whilst the toy runs. Alternatively, try holding it against your clitoris or their testicles during penetrative sex. The length of the toy allows you to accommodate this easily.

If your partner also has a vulva, one of the main tips that came up for using double ended dildos was LUBE, LUBE, LUBE! When it comes to insertion, it’s more manageable to insert one end into one person at a time. The same sort of advice was given for finding your rhythm when you get to f*cking. One person finds their pacing first then eventually the other person joins, matching their energy. Sound advice; I do this when throwing it back in back shots (lol @ me trying to relate).

In terms of positions, it was recommended that you tried as many as possible to find what worked for you with this kind of couples vibrator. The suggestions that stood out to me was that double sided dildos are easier to use if you opt to ride each other as opposed to scissoring, which I believe because I see some of you complaining online about how tricky scissoring can be. Those damn angles!

The suggestion that surprised me, but many sapphics hyped up, was using a double sided dildo on all fours with your derrières facing each other’s and pushing back onto one another, something that could also be replicated whilst laying on your sides. A suggestion I came up with all by myself was to place one of the ends between both of your vulvas and grind on each other whilst it vibrates. Seems like it would be hot and gives you an external option. Overall, it was encouraged that when using these kinds of sex toys for couples, you try as many positions as possible to find the best fit for you.
