LELO Enigma Double Sonic Review (Blog)
In my 7 years of reviewing some of the best sex toys this wonderful world has to offer, I have never tried a toy with a setting called, ‘Finish Me Off’.
If this review sounds overly cheery, it’s because I just had an orgasm with the ‘Finish Me Off’ toy in question -the Lelo Enigma Double Sonic. Girlllll!
I’ve been enamoured with Lelo’s Enigma series since its birth, when I realised that it was taking their cult fave suction toy, the Sona Cruise, to the next level with an internal stimulation feature with the Enigma. Then they dropped the Enigma Wave, combining the delicious internal stroking technique (WaveMotion technology) of my favourite rabbit vibrator EVER, the Lelo Soraya Wave (which to this day is the only toy in existence to give me multiple orgasms). I didn’t think there was anywhere else for them to go with the Enigma series from there, as surely the Enigma Wave was its final form…
Needless to say, I was sceptical at the release of the Enigma Deep Sonic, because how do you improve on perfection? What was this toy going to do that could top being sucked, stroked and sonically vibrated at the same time? Even reading that sentence out loud sounds like a tall order to fill, but if Lelo know how to do anything, it is fill things!
Described as ‘an entirely different way of experiencing orgasms’, the Lelo Enigma Double Sonic is a triple stimulation, app-controlled toy that targets the hard-to-reach A-Spot. The A-Spot, also referred to as the anterior fornix, is an erogenous zone that can be located approximately 4-5 inches inside the vagina (past your G-spot which can typically be found about 2-3 inches in), between the front vaginal wall and the cervix. Sex researchers found that stimulating the area can provide faster vaginal lubrication and orgasms.
As well as clitoral suction stimulation with an internal stimulator that not only directs pleasure to your G-spot but also has a sonic tip to help users achieve the A-spot orgasm, the Enigma Double Sonic employs Lelo’s DeepSonic technology (it’s like a sexier version of their SenSonic technology…because DEEP). It promises the internal and external stimulation of the vulva using sonic waves that penetrates throughout the sensitive tissue to give you a deeper, fully fleshed out pleasure experience. As a connoisseur of Lelo toys, I can personally assure you that it does the job, almost a little too well (you know it’s serious when an orgasm is so good it brings you to tears).

I’m not gonna lie, I really wasn’t in the mood to test this toy. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I was suffering through yet another f*£%!#g period. It’s hard to feel sexy when your boobs hurt, your stomach feels like someone is twisting your insides with hands of hot steel and all you want to do is rot in bed, eat snacks and binge watch shows that will inevitably make you cry. But I soldiered on for you guys in the name of science and in the hope of finding relief wrapped in a DeepSonic induced orgasm (fun fact, orgasms help to ease cramps *insert rainbow tailed shooting star* The More You Know!
I laid down a towel and got to it, armed with my phone, a lofi hip hop playlist on full blast and the power of my salacious imagination. I inserted the flexible internal stimulator first, which is a comfortable size and shape that slips in easily and hooks itself in place. Once you’ve found your ideal placement, you don’t have to fuss with it again. You can adjust the depth of it to suit where the clitoral stimulator sits on the outside.
I began using the toy manually via Lelo’s signature three button interface, getting a feel for each of the 8 settings on varying levels of intensity. Let me tell you, you lot are lucky that I remembered I was doing a review because that toy had me ready to wrap that whole operation up without even glancing at the damn app. But she’s a professional, so I (reluctantly) withdrew the device and downloaded the free Lelo app (available on android and iPhone).
I recommend looking at the downloadable manual on lelo.com/support. I thought I could surpass it because I’m such a clever girl…and sat there for 10 minutes pressing the wrong buttons and growling at my phone. Don’t be like me.
Set up is actually quite simple. Once you download the app, create an account, turn on your Bluetooth then press and hold the central power button on the Enigma till it starts blinking. The app will provide a list of app-controlled Lelo devices. Find the Enigma Deep Sonic and it will prompt you to connect to the app with on screen instructions. It connected easily and offered two options -one for ‘Play’ and one for ‘Settings’ which allows you to customise your experience by disabling 7 out of the 8 functions if you find any of them aren’t to your liking.
I selected Play and began titting about with all the options. Along the top of the screen, it provides different control options under ‘Regular’ and ‘Advanced’ modes. Regular Mode options include twisting your phone left to right to control the intensity (Screwing), shaking your phone (Shaking) or a Manual option that showed the device interface and allowed you to tap the setting you wanted. I enjoyed the Screwing option, but as I was pulled deeper into my session, keeping my hand steady whilst my body convulsed in ecstasy wasn’t as easy. I shook my phone for the fun of it, but essentially, I’m lazy and didn’t want to anymore lol -it works well though. I settled on the manual option, so I didn’t have to do anything.
On the bottom of the screen is a drop-down menu which allows you to select the mode you want. They were each named things like ‘Daring’ and ‘Ecstasy’, which I thought was a nice touch as settings don’t normally come with names, so you could pick the vibe you wanted.
The real fun was under the Advanced tab with the afore mentioned ‘Finish Me Off’ and ‘Out of Control’ mode. Finish Me Off is a slow build to orgasm setting. It was nice, paired with hypnotic visuals that pulsed in synchronisation with the toy, but I’ll admit that I moved on after a few minutes because the Enigma had me on the ropes and I was too impatient for a slow build. The Out of Control option was a bit of me though. It was intense and relentless. I could see the patterns rolling across the screen in glowing burnt orange hues whilst I fisted my hands in the sheets and gasped. It was the exact opposite of the Finish Me Off, where that one was like a lover taking their time with your body, Out of Control was the equivalent of getting your back blown out by that lover you swore you wouldn’t speak to again, but the sex is just too good. I will be revisiting both settings again when I’m less impatient. The manual mode carried me through to the end. I had my intensity on #5 with both motors running.
I really enjoyed the sensation of the internal sonic tip. It didn’t vibrate but provided a focused tapping function, which on the lower settings was more of a gentle flutter but when ramped up, the walls of my pussoir were shooketh -literally. Combined with the external suction, I was soon lost in the sauce and drowning in an orgasm that felt like freefalling. As strong as it was, the sensation of my climax never felt like it was too much. I kept the device close as I came down, extending the loveliness until I’d stopped writhing and making those awfully unbecoming noises lol.
Overall, I give the Enigma Double Sonic 4.75 stars. It’s a very, VERY good toy, with a fantastic and aesthetic app to go with it (one of the best app-controlled toy experiences I’ve had thus far) but the Enigma Wave is still top spot of the Enigma range for me, so I don’t feel like it’s fair to rate them the same -no that the 0.25 is that big of a difference. As I said, it’s VERY good. The perks of it being app-controlled means that you can involve you partner in your play, which is always a good time. The ergonomic design and the app make it a fabulous option for people with limited mobility (or lazy people like me lol).
Many of you have purchased my Lelo recommendations over the years and given me your own glowing reviews (love that for you), so if the Enigma Double Sonic sounds tempting to you, you will not be disappointed at all. It’s an innovative toy with a multitude of ways to explore it -there is nothing I’ve tried on the market that I can compare it to.
I recommend it for intermediate to advanced toy users who want to invest in a high-quality toy that they can see themselves using frequently.
